Thriving for mastery

I am not yet the best (in whatever capacity you might connect me with)

Yet, I thrive to always do better than I ever did.
Some call that excellence or excellent spirit, Yes!
But I also call it Intentional Growth
If by any chance I might attain the pinnacle of my pursuit here on earth.
Reaching the highest height, set before I was conceived.
With God on my side,
Christ working in, with and through me,
The Holy Spirit leading, teaching and encouraging me,
The Angels of God always on guard,
I trust that I will Be, Do, and Express MY BEST
Then my generation will realize I have never been in competition with no other man but me.
Thriving to be better than my immediate passed minute.

Nigeria Everyday

 Hi everyone.

I started a documentary series last month particularly to show the world what happens here in Nigeria everyday. The page title is @NigeriaEveryday on Instagram. It is the first child of the Stories Of Nigeria (check on facebook and instagram), a documentary project to tell the beautiful stories of Nigeria. Check it out and follow the flow.

A book will be published soon when all modalities are settled. It will definitely be a world class piece for this grneration of art collectors and posterity.

Creatively Yours,

Tolu Oluwapojuwo

Nature’s beauty as seen by a photographer

I went for a wedding shoot recently in Okeho, one of the ancient towns in Oke Ogun, Oyo State late November, 2015. After sighting the awesomeness of the surrounding mountains and nature’s beauty, i decided to do some mountaineering with few of my friends with me on the trip. This is one of the images i got on the mountain. I so much love the details on the sky and the ambience of the dried tree.

Green and some of its attached meanings!

Green and its attachments!

image

It is the colour of fruitfulness, prosperity, renewal and life.
The color most commonly associated with nature, youth, spring and hope.
The color of living grass and leaves.

image

The color between blue and yellow on the spectrum of visible light.
The traditional color of safety and permission; a green light means go ahead.

image

Even the official green card permits permanent residence in the United States.
The color of hope since it is connected with the springtime.
It symbolizes self-respect and well being.
The color of balance.

image

It also means learning, growth and harmony.
It is a safe color
In fact, if you don’t know what color to use anywhere use green.

My experience at 2014 World Photography Day

Yesterday was the day i will always remember. In fact, i will tell the stories to my children, grandchildren and posterity.
It was the celebration of THE WORLD PHOTOGRAPHY DAY right in the freedom park on the Lagos Island.
In attendance were the great photographers i have always wanted to meet – Kelechi Amadi-Obi, Don Barber, Seyi Body-Lawson, Seun Akinsanmi, Chima Okorie, and hosts of others whose works have challenged my creative mind over the years.

image

The event was hosted by Yemi Royal of Bliss Media (a short, creative and daring man i respect) and anchored by a beautiful Nigerian lady Ejiro Salibi.
After a few mind tasking talks by the keynote speakers whose picture are shown later in the post, and i really mean mind and brain tasking at that, we set out on a walk to pay a photographic visit to the iconic king of Lagos, HRM Oba Akinolu. Little would we realise that it was going to be a long, fast, rainy but exciting photowalk from freedom park via Aroloya to the king’s palace.

I am so blessed to have met, chatted with, asked personal questions from the ace photographers who shaped the world of digital photography in Nigeria.

This will remain a point in my career to always remember even as i climb the ladder patiently and passionately.
